Texas Public Radio’s The Source: Should Alamo Heights Build A Broadway Linear Park?

A new plan to improve the pedestrian character of the Broadway corridor as it runs through Alamo Heights has been proposed. A linear park, designed by students and professors at the University of Texas San Antonio, has been presented to the city and its residents in multiple public meetings.

The park that runs more than 2 miles of the main thoroughfare could mean a big investment and a big change to a city that has been reevaluating what it wants its community to look like the past few years.

Alamo Heights has had a few contentious profile-changing projects, the most notable of which was at the corner of Broadway and Austin Highway.

What would a park like this one mean for the city of Alamo Heights?
